Hubby Time

It's time for some alone time with my man. It's been forever since we went anywhere without any children. We are going to spend a week in Florida scoping out the area. Hopefully, figure out where we want to land after we sell our house in Oregon. We are both ready for a change in scenery.

We managed to miss out flight. We both thought it took off at 11:59... Nope 11:27. Lucky for us the kind lady at the desk booked us for the next morning without charging us.
Thank you kind Alaska Airlines lady!
We arrived and had to wait 2.5 hours to get our rental car from the airport. Needless to say, neither of us was very happy about it, but what can you do. None of the other people in line where loving it either. They were rerouting flights from Fort Lauderdale because of the 24" of rain. The airport was closed due to flooding.

We headed down to the Gulf of Mexico for a look around and had lunch at Shrimp Landing Fish Market. They had the best Fish Tacos and Hush Puppies. It was a beautiful day on the water. Loved the area. It was rural so we will definitely be looking at houses there when we are ready.

After a day of driving around looking at different areas, we had dinner at the
Stumpknoker's Restaurant.

Tried Gator... It was alright, but can't say I would want it every day. Maybe fried would have been better. It was a little mussy with all the sauce.

Mike had Fried Frogs Legs. So of course I had to have a bite of that. Tastes like chicken.

The next day we headed to Tampa for a day at Busch Gardens. Man was it hot.
I'm glad there we a lot of trees.

We wandered around looking at everything, neither of us felt like riding anything. They had a few beautiful water features.

First up was a Gator. I told Mike that not really Gator. He said yes it was, but his eye aren't moving he looks like a statue. That's how they get you. Sure enough, he blinked.

He was sharing his area with some turtles.

This guy was hanging out in the lunch area trying to grab a snack.

The Kangaroos were all laying about. Not that I blame them it was pretty hot by this time.
We decided to call it a day and head back to the hotel and relax.

Got checked into our room at the Red Roof Inn for the night and decided to shower. The shower was great with lots of pressure, but they only had one towel in the room. Needless to say, we didn't stay the two nights we were supposed to. Definitely don't recommend it.
Up in the morning with a stop at Wawa for a refresher energy drink and gas fill-up for our drive to Tampa.

We decided to head over to the Atlantic Ocean since we couldn't check into our hotel yet.
Had lunch at the Seafood Atlantic.

Shrimp Poor Boy for me.

and Fish Tacos for Mike. Not as good as the ones at Shrimp Landing!

They were having an air show that day, but we missed that. We enjoyed all the boats coming back into port. Some were pretty fancy.

The next day it rained until about 2. So we stayed in and relaxed all morning then headed to Universal to browse the City Walk but when we got there we decided to just go into the park. We had a great time wandering the Harry Potter area. We rode all the rides we wanted to and saw some shows with hardly enough wait time. It was great.

We left about an hour before the park closed to head to Baba Gumps for dinner.
I had Mai He Mai He

and Mike had some shrimp thing. Both were excellent and our server was a kick.

The last day of freedom was a day at Sea World. It wasn't too hot. Perfect shorts weather.

The whales put on a great show.

The penguin's enclosure was a bit nippy at 32 degrees, but it was just like being at home so it was all good.

It was a great vacation with much-needed together time. It was nice to actually talk to each other without being interrupted or having someone need something.
We had time to focus on each other.

We picked out the area we would like to relocate to. Now to get busy finishing up the house so we can get it on the market. Hopefully, we will find the perfect place when we are ready to move.
I'm ready to start a new adventure!
